‘Soft Set Sundays, Vol. 1’ is the debut solo album from Irish pianist and composer Kevin Corcoran.

Kevin is an active composer and session musician, working with many different artist all over the world. In 2019, Kevin collaborated with Saso to release ‘Thresholds’, an album of sound explorations using piano, strings and synth arrangements. Kevin also plays keyboards and sings backing vocals for Villagers and has toured the world with them, but, like for all other musicians, touring and gigging has been non-existent for a year and half. So, in November of last year, to stimulate some creativity, Kevin started sitting in his garden in front of his piano and a camera and improvising. He has released one of these videos every Sunday since then and has called the series; ‘Soft Set Sundays’.

This album is the first 10 of these solo piano improvisations, painstakingly produced, mixed and mastered by Kevin.

The focus tracks for the album are ‘Elements’ and ‘Absense’.

‘Elements’ is a powerful and emotive piece that grows from solo piano to a full and rich texture of orchestral strings and warm synth layers.

‘Absense’ is a meditative and haunting piece for solo piano.
